About Us
Alpha is a disability advocacy group employing VA-accredited advocates who serve veterans in all 50 states. Most of our advocates are veterans who are focused solely on helping fellow veterans receive the highest level of disability compensation possible from the Veterans Administration (VA).
The idea of Alpha came from the leadership team that heads Freedom Disability, a national Social Security disability group headquartered in Shelton, Connecticut. Since 2002, Freedom Disability, through its expert advocacy services, has helped thousands of people with disabilities apply for and win disability insurance benefits from the Social Security Administration.
In early 2010, Freedom Disability expanded its advocacy services to help disabled veterans receive disability compensation from the VA. Alpha Disability launched in July of the same year.

Alpha – How We are Compensated
An Alpha advocate will help you file an application at the initial level at no cost to you. There is no cost to you for this service unless an Alpha advocate helps you win your case through appeals or increase your benefits through appeals. The Advocate’s fee is subject to review by the VA’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC). The VA/OGC generally considers a fee of 20% of the retroactive award as a reasonable payment and we agree. Subject to the review of the OGC, and only if we win an appeal, your Alpha Advocate will be paid a one time fee of 20% of your retroactive award. Click to learn more about our advocacy fees.
Alpha Advocates Accredited by the VA
Our Alpha advocates are independently accredited through the VA’s Office of General Counsel (OGC). You can validate their accreditation at the VA OGC Web site.
When we win your appeal the VA will issue a Fee Agreement Decision to you and to Alpha with the amount of our fee for our services. You have 60 days to contest this amount if you disagree, or you can waive the 60-day period to allow the VA to release our fee sooner.
Our fee agreements are closely monitored by the VA OGC to ensure full compliance with VA regulations and guidelines.
Note: All representation coordinated by Alpha is provided by our employees, the Advocates, who are accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). No private organization that trains and employs accredited agents has been legally recognized by the VA for the purposes of preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims. This work must be done by the Advocates themselves and not organizations.

As an Army vet 1963 -1967 and a member of the VFW , would like to know how I might become an Alpha Advocate ?
Well I went to this web page to find out about my claim and someone sent me email and after it was like I never ever was here. It is so bad that I gave my all to and for my country and now I’m seeking help from those who say they are here to help and I feel like I’m a piece of $&@t and this is not fair, just want my case information and someone to let me know that they are not just blowing me off because if I win they win, so I hope I’m not being a pain and that your company is doing all to help me win . Thank you
Dash,
Your Alpha advocate will do what they can to get you the most in your VA benefits. Our website is provided to answer general questions and not a forum to openly discuss individual cases. We must be sensitive to the privacy of each veteran’s situation and case. We encourage you to reach out to your Alpha Advocate to discuss your concerns.
